Awesome festival in Tsukiji, Tokyo. They were inviting everybody to dance and go back to traditional Japan! No Yukata required. The obasans (older ladies) looked amazing doing the traditional dance, they knew all of them and performed stunningly. People dipping their hands in paint to support the affected areas from the recent natural disasters in Japan. Free green tea!
Sea Paradise is an amazing park in general. Take a look at our blog post on it for our experiences. Landmark Tower in Yokohama, taken from Sakuragicho train station. Not sure what they were demonstrating or advertising, Looks like Peace, Peace, Peace. The signature Japan Railways clock. They have multiple versions of this clock on all Japan Railways stations. I kind of want one for my room now. Blue Fall free fall ride.... One of the tallest free fall rides. The main show hall. It was really amazing and wide open, I really enjoyed the ocean view. A sea lion crashing into a whale shark :) Belugas? This was on the "petting tank," even though we felt bad for the animals it was quite the experience touching and interacting with a whale. Poor whale :/ Hakkeijima island, Sea Paradise .
I regret taking so few pictures of this day, but as you might conclude, after taking a few pictures of the food they were offering on the street I could not resist but to splurge in delicious greasy food! After that I did not want to touch my camera :/ Closed down streets for the festival. Great food. Delicious chocolate covered bananas. They were quite warm but delicious none the less. Fun toys. They were selling the most random things but as a kit I would have gone crazy. I remember going home with a new toy and dipping it in water was an entirely new experiment. As a side note, I remember as a little kid submerging Nintendo (NES) cassettes in water and using pure alcohol to clean them after frustrating attempts to make them work, especially Mario Bros and other classics such as Marble Madness. More food.
A parent resting in SOGO mall, I think his child was playing around in the toy section. This scene is common in trains as Japanese tend to be relentless workers. A Koban in Minato Mirai 21, these are compact looking police station buildings. I always think these buildings look miniature. A nice pattern on Queens mall deck at night. This image was taken at night on the Queens Square mall deck. It has a great view of the ferris wheel in the Minato Mirai area. Queen's Square mall deck at night. Nice haircut. In SOGO mall. A lady with her dog in Hiratuka. I never thought I would see the Harry Potter font used with different characters other than Latin letters. Japanese Harry Potter ad (not a fan by the way, just never got into it).
